FCA-Regulated Archax Integrates With Aptos to Move More Than 100 Tokenised Securities Onchain

Archax, the first FCA-regulated digital securities exchange, broker and custodian, has integrated with the Aptos blockchain to bring more than 100 regulated tokenised securities and real world assets onchain, starting with a reinsurance income fund.

The first product to launch on Aptos through the tie-up is the MembersCap Tokenised Global Reinsurance Income Fund, known as MCM Fund I, on which the Aptos Foundation itself sits as general partner. Archax says further funds, equities and debt instruments will follow in the coming months as it extends its tokenisation engine onto the network.

What happened

The integration gives Aptos a regulated, full lifecycle tokenisation partner rather than another token issuer. Archax provides the brokerage, custody and exchange infrastructure that institutional investors typically require before they will hold anything onchain, and its FCA licence has been the firm's main selling point in a sector where most platforms still operate in regulatory grey areas.

Archax chief executive Graham Rodford framed the move as a technology decision as much as a regulatory one. "For tokenisation to go mainstream the institutions need to get involved, which revolves around bringing real world assets onchain," he said. "We have the regulations needed to deliver this, but also need to integrate with leading technology providers too."

Aptos already hosts tokenised products from BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Apollo, Brevan Howard and Bitwise, with close to a billion dollars in real world asset backed value and roughly fifty billion dollars in monthly stablecoin volume moving across the network. Archax's arrival adds a UK regulated bridge to that roster, and the firm has separately been building a route into the US market through a broker-dealer licence obtained via tZERO infrastructure, positioning itself as a transatlantic link for tokenised securities.

Adoption is King

The commitment to tokenise more than a hundred assets across funds, equities and debt is a different proposition to a single flagship launch. A one-off tokenised fund is a marketing moment; a pipeline spanning multiple instrument types on a named blockchain is closer to a distribution strategy, and it signals that regulated intermediaries are now treating specific chains as long-term infrastructure rather than experiments.

It also reinforces a pattern this publication has tracked through the year: institutional real world asset activity is consolidating around a small number of blockchains with genuine regulatory cover, rather than spreading evenly across the field. For UK readers, Archax's FCA authorisation is doing real commercial work here, giving a British-regulated firm a seat at the table on a network already courted by the largest US asset managers, and at a moment when commentators including Bob Wigley have warned that the UK risks ceding control of tokenisation rules to Washington unless domestic firms move quickly to build genuine scale.
